Government Launches 3 Options for AI Whispering Bird Loans to Help Small Businesses Choose Credit Limits Based on Business Size Using Actual Sales Data

The government has launched three options for the “AI Whispering Bird” loan program, allowing small business operators seeking working capital or business expansion funds to select loan amounts based on their business size, using actual sales data to support appropriate loan applications.

On 11 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertvivattana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that the government is moving forward to help small traders and entrepreneurs access formal financing through the “AI Whispering Bird” loan program. This uses actual sales data from the “Tung Ngern” application as additional information for loan assessment and offers entrepreneurs choices to select loan amounts fitting their business size and needs. The announced products are simply divided into three levels as follows.

1. Small shops needing working capital up to 50,000 baht.

The “GSB QR Maha Heng x Whispering Bird” loan is suitable for small entrepreneurs using the Tung Ngern app who require modest funds without collateral. The maximum loan is 50,000 baht per person, with no collateral required, no loan application fees, and a fixed interest rate of 0.75% per month.

2. Tung Ngern traders needing loans up to 500,000 baht.

The “Sib Muen” loan from Krungthai Bank suits traders needing working capital or to boost business liquidity. The maximum loan is 500,000 baht per person, with interest rates starting at 11% per year, monthly installments starting at 500 baht, and no loan application fees.

3. Businesses seeking to expand, with loan amounts up to 3 million baht.

The “SME Small Size” loan from Krungthai Bank is designed for wholesale, retail, service businesses, and online shops using the AI Whispering Bird on the Tung Ngern app, requiring higher loan amounts for business use. The maximum loan is 3 million baht per person, with interest starting at 3.5% per year fixed for the first two years and no loan application fees.

Ms. Lalida said entrepreneurs should select loans based on the "actual funds needed" rather than the highest available loan amount and should carefully consider total costs, especially the interest calculation basis. The GSB QR Maha Heng x Whispering Bird loan specifies an interest rate of 0.75% “per month,” while Krungthai Bank loans specify rates “per year,” so these figures should not be directly compared without considering the time frame and conditions.

The highlight of “AI Whispering Bird” is using actual sales data from the Tung Ngern app to reflect the business operations of entrepreneurs, including sales, income trends, and transaction data from government programs such as Thai Chua Thai Plus and Khon La Khrueng Plus. This provides traders with real income and sales, but who may lack payslips or formal corporate financial statements, with additional data to support loan applications.

“Simply put, if a store truly makes sales, the sales data generated are not wasted but can better reflect the store's potential for loan applications. However, AI does not approve loans, and having sales recorded in Tung Ngern does not guarantee automatic loan approval. Banks still assess qualifications, repayment ability, and product criteria. Entrepreneurs should select loan amounts suitable for their business, borrow only what is necessary, and be confident in their ability to repay,” Ms. Lalida said.

Furthermore, for entrepreneurs with potential but limited collateral or guarantors, there is a loan guarantee mechanism from the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation (SME CG) to help increase access to loans. The guarantee serves as additional support and does not automatically approve loan amounts.

The government aims to use technology and data to open financial system access for smaller entrepreneurs, especially those who “trade and earn real income but may lack complete traditional financial documents.” It also encourages the public to choose loans appropriate to their business size and repayment capacity.
