11 Sep 2026 GMT+7 Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul gave an interview at the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) regarding his letter to the Royal Thai Police Chief about Thongjuea Chatkitcharoen, a member of the Prime Minister's working team, who has been accused of involvement in the process of local examination fraud. As I said, avoiding naming names is a practice. Over the past two to three weeks, the name Thongjuea has been mentioned as someone allegedly involved, according to several accusations.
Therefore, to ensure confidence, I wrote to the Royal Thai Police, who are handling the case, to obtain clear information. This is to avoid vague answers like saying the person is just an acquaintance or colleague or close associate, because then it might be claimed that I am providing assistance. My relationship with the person named is strictly professional. Regarding personal or off-duty matters, I do not know what those working with me might be doing.
The Prime Minister also stated that to provide assurance both publicly and privately, and as the overseer of the Royal Thai Police, knowing which agency is handling this case, he asked in order to respond to inquiries with factual information supported by evidence.
