Anutin Does Not Close Door on Kla Tham Joining Government, Says Everything Is Possible No Cabinet Reshuffle Yet

The Prime Minister does not rule out Kla Tham joining the government, saying politics leaves no room for impossibilities and everything is possible. He confirmed there is no cabinet reshuffle at this time.

On 11 September 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanvirakul addressed whether Kla Tham Party's vote passing the 2027 budget bill signals a chance for coalition talks, saying he needs to speak with Kla Tham’s leader first as they have not yet had the opportunity to discuss.

Regarding Captain Thammanat Prompao, Kla Tham leader, stating they remain close friends, the Prime Minister remarked, “It’s been several decades; we are of the same generation.”

When asked if the government needs to bring in more parties to strengthen itself, the Prime Minister said that currently the government is strong but must still do everything possible to maintain strength to push policies forward with cooperation from all sides and to instill confidence among ministers in their administration.

Asked if the government, already strong, wants to become stronger by adding support, the Prime Minister replied immediately, “It is still strong.” On the possibility of Kla Tham joining the coalition within the next four years, he said politics always allows for opportunities. When pressed about a cabinet reshuffle including Kla Tham, he said everything is possible.

Regarding whether this is a positive sign, Anutin said it is a good signal. The public will see a stable and strong government, and foreigners and business partners will have confidence that the government will respond effectively and push initiatives forward. When asked again about a cabinet reshuffle, the Prime Minister briefly said, “Not yet.”
