Motorcycle Taxi Drivers Can Get Vehicle Inspection at Any Authorized Center One Month Ahead Before Annual Tax Payment

The government advises public motorcycles and app-based motorcycle taxis to submit their vehicles for inspection at any authorized inspection center up to one month in advance, enhancing convenience before the annual tax payment and reducing congestion at transport office service centers.

On 12 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the government prioritizes road safety, especially for public motorcycle use, requiring drivers to strictly comply with laws and ensure their vehicles are inspected and taxed correctly. To facilitate convenience and reduce crowding at the Department of Land Transport offices, the government recommends public motorcycle drivers with Ror Yor 17 plates (yellow plates), including motorcycle taxis and app-based motorcycles, to have their vehicles inspected up to one month before their annual tax due date. Vehicles with annual tax overdue between one and three years can also be inspected at any authorized private vehicle inspection center (Tor Or) nationwide, or alternatively at the transport office in their registration area or where their taxi stand is located.

Ms. Ploytale explained that vehicle owners bringing their motorcycles for inspection at authorized private centers (Tor Or) should prepare key documents, including the original or a copy of the vehicle registration booklet. After passing the inspection, they must submit the inspection certificate along with the compulsory motor insurance policy (Por Ror Bor) for public motorcycles to pay the annual tax at the transport office in the province where the vehicle is registered. For motorcycles registered in Bangkok, annual tax payment can be made at any of the Bangkok Metropolitan Transport Offices 1 through 5. For vehicles registered at provincial transport offices, tax payment can be made at the provincial office or its branches within that province.

The government emphasizes the safety standards and legal compliance of private vehicle inspection centers, which must be certified by the Department of Land Transport and strictly follow its regulations. The public can conveniently find authorized inspection centers within 30 kilometers or search in other provinces via the Department of Land Transport's LINE Official Account "Inspection-Map."
