The Speaker of the Parliament inaugurated the 2026 Buriram Learning Promotion Office (LPO) Academic Fair, encouraging emulation of “Nong Nene” in skill development and practice leading to national recognition. He revealed that Buriram also has two national volleyball players who have brought honor to the province.
On 12 September 2026, Mr. Sophon Sarum, Speaker of the Parliament, presided over the opening ceremony of the academic fair summarizing the operations under the theme “Building People, Creating Opportunities, Developing Sustainable Careers” for the fiscal year 2026. He presented certificates of recognition to agencies under the Department of Learning Promotion (LPO) for outstanding achievements in various fields. The Buriram Provincial Learning Promotion Office organized the event with participation from the LPO Director, heads of government agencies, network partners, executives, teachers, staff, students, and relevant parties at the Convention Hall, Alvarez Hotel, Isan Subdistrict, Mueang Buriram District, Buriram Province.
The event served as a platform to showcase the achievements of the Buriram LPO and affiliated agencies, as well as LPO offices from the Northeastern provinces, through exhibitions and presentations. It also provided opportunities for executives, teachers, staff, educational institutions, and network partners to exchange knowledge, disseminate innovations, and share best practices, thereby fostering collaboration among government agencies, private sectors, local communities, schools, and all network partners.
Mr. Sophon stated that the LPO plays a role in offering alternative opportunities for citizens and youth who are not enrolled in formal education to develop vocational skills alongside non-formal general education. The LPO exhibition demonstrated that quality vocational skills are not exclusive to formal education students but result from continuous development, practice, and learning anytime, anywhere, throughout life. This adaptability to change, acquiring new skills, creating careers, generating income, and sustaining livelihoods contributes to human development and national progress, not just formal education alone. He encouraged pursuing vocational or specialized fields of expertise to ensure a stable quality of life.
“Take for example Nong Nene, who is currently popular; her success stems from skillful practice and brings pride to Thailand. This shows that Thailand has many good qualities, but we often forget to appreciate the merits and goodwill of Thai people, which need to be promoted. I also send my support to Nong Nene in the final round, hoping she wins the competition and becomes a good role model for the youth. We offer our encouragement,” Mr. Sophon said.
Importantly, in women’s volleyball, Thailand’s national players “Bumbim” Chatchu-on Moksri from Phutthaisong District and “Beam” Pimphaya Korkham from Krasang District have brought fame to Buriram Province. Both graduated from Lamplaimat Kindergarten School, which has produced several national athletes. This demonstrates that with serious effort from government agencies and support for underprivileged rural youth, public agencies’ outreach can create a better future for children and youth, who will become the nation’s vital strength moving forward.
