National Police Chief Meets Prime Minister at Thai Khu Fa Building, Confirms Handover to Successor Navy Chief Thanks PM for Frigate Purchase Approval

National Police Chief visits the Thai Khu Fa building to meet the Prime Minister, revealing the handover of duties to Police General Samran Nuanma has been completed. Meanwhile, the Navy Commander visits to thank the Prime Minister for approving the frigate purchase.


At 08:27 on 14 September 2026 at the Government House, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, National Police Chief, said after meeting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul at the Thai Khu Fa building that he came just to greet as usual, with no specific report. He added that efforts to suppress foreign nominee groups continue without pause, and he has already handed over policies to Deputy National Police Chief Police General Samran Nuanma.


When asked if he had handed over duties to the incoming National Police Chief as his retirement approaches, he confirmed discussions on various policies have taken place, especially regarding prevention and suppression, notably the cyber vaccine initiative and key security units. He emphasized that he has completed talks with Police General Samran.


At 08:45, Navy Commander Admiral Phairoj Fuangchan arrived at the Thai Khu Fa building and briefly stated he was meeting the Prime Minister to express thanks. When asked if this was regarding the frigate purchase, he replied simply, "Yes, sir."


Earlier, Assistant Navy Commander Admiral Nares Wongtrakul left the Thai Khu Fa building around the same time as the National Police Chief without speaking to the media. Admiral Nares has been appointed as the new Navy Commander, effective from 1 October 2026.
