“Pradorn” revealed that the Finance Ministry will finalize the extension of “Thai Help Thai Plus Phase 2” after the Prime Minister gave principle approval, confirming there is a remaining loan decree budget of 50 billion baht.
At 12:00 on 14 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at the Government House, Pradorn Prissanunthakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office supervising the Budget Bureau, spoke about the progress of the Thai Help Thai Plus project. The first phase is nearing completion at the end of this September. The Ministry of Finance is currently assessing the situation to consider the necessity of continuing the project. Regarding the initial budget, about 40 to 50 billion baht remains available from the 400 billion baht loan decree, which is ready and sufficient to immediately support the project if the Finance Ministry approves.
Additionally, the Prime Minister has already given principle approval, allowing the project to proceed if conditions are appropriate. Furthermore, concerning funding sources, the government stated there are multiple budget pools, including a new one—the 400 billion baht loan decree—which can be promptly utilized to provide additional assistance if the situation requires government spending to help the public.
