The Prime Minister is preparing to attend UNGA81 in New York City and visit Japan and the United Kingdom from 20 to 27 September, advancing international cooperation and showcasing the potential of the Thai capital market.

At 2:00 p.m. on 15 September 2026 at the Government House, Mr. Ekaphop Pianpiset, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Puangketkaew and Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chaichanok Chidchob, will attend the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) from 20 to 27 September 2026 in New York City, USA. They will also visit Japan and the United Kingdom to advance relations and cooperation in diplomacy, economy, trade, investment, technology, and digital sectors. The Prime Minister will lead executives from the Thai Capital Market Business Council and the Stock Exchange of Thailand on a roadshow to present the strengths of the Thai capital market, creating opportunities and confidence in Thailand's economy while connecting Thai capital markets with leading global financial institutions and investors.

On the morning of 20 September 2026, the Prime Minister and his delegation will depart Thailand for Tokyo, Japan. On 21 September, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with Thai athletes participating in the 20th Asian Games to offer encouragement and deliver remarks, as well as chair the Thailand team meeting in Japan before continuing on to New York City, USA.

At UNGA81, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, the Prime Minister will attend the opening ceremony and general debate, and hold meetings with leaders and high-level representatives from various countries, including Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the Prime Ministers of Bhutan, Armenia, Bangladesh, and the UN Secretary-General. Additionally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to deliver a general debate speech on 24 September.

This year's UNGA81 focuses on the theme "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All," emphasizing restoring confidence and managing change so the UN can effectively address modern global challenges and benefit all people sustainably and equitably. This presents a key opportunity for Thailand to demonstrate its role and perspectives to the global community and promote cooperation beneficial to the country and its citizens.

Beyond the conference agenda, the Prime Minister will meet with major US business leaders and investors. On 22 September, he will participate in a roundtable discussion with investors, co-hosted by Bank of America and Jefferies Group, meet executives from Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), and attend a dinner hosted by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC), where he will address the US private sector to build confidence in Thailand's economic potential, attract investment, and expand economic cooperation between Thailand and the US.

A key mission during this trip is to drive cooperation in digital economy, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI). On 23 September 2026, the Prime Minister will visit Google to meet with Ruth Porat, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Alphabet and Google, accompanied by Minister Chaichanok Chidchob, to promote collaboration in digital and technological fields. They will also tour Google's innovations, especially interactive AI technologies and digital solutions applicable to economic development and services.

On this occasion, the Minister of Digital Economy and Society will exchange ideas on promoting Thailand's digital and AI ecosystem, developing digital infrastructure, upgrading digital and AI skills among Thai personnel, and creating an environment conducive to investment and operations by global tech companies in Thailand. This supports the transition to a digital economy, enhances competitiveness, and provides businesses, entrepreneurs, and the public with tangible access to new technologies.

Additionally, the Minister will use the opportunity at the USABC and USCC-hosted dinner to meet and network with executives from leading US tech companies such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft. This aims to build global tech partnerships, showcase Thailand's potential as a base for digital and tech business investment and development, and seek opportunities to advance cooperation in AI, innovation, digital skills development, and future technologies into concrete outcomes.

The Prime Minister will then proceed to London, United Kingdom, accompanied by executives from the Stock Exchange of Thailand for capital market engagements. He is scheduled to meet institutional investors jointly with UBS Group AG, a leading global financial institution, to conduct a roadshow presenting Thailand's economic potential and investment opportunities in Thai capital markets. This aims to build confidence among international institutional investors, expand the foreign investor base, and link Thai capital markets with global financial centers and investors, thereby increasing opportunities to attract long-term investments into Thailand.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with representatives of leading UK businesses such as Virgin Atlantic Airways and Rolls-Royce to promote business opportunities, investment, and cooperation with the UK private sector.

After completing the mission on 25 September, the Prime Minister and delegation will depart the United Kingdom to return to Thailand, with an expected arrival in the morning of 27 September 2026.

"The Prime Minister is leveraging his participation in UNGA81 to open doors for global economic and investment cooperation, leading a Thai roadshow team to create opportunities and elevate the economy through capital markets. Accompanying him are Mr. Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, Chairman of the Thai Capital Market Business Council, and Mr. Atsadach Kongsiriphan, Director and Managing Director of the Stock Exchange of Thailand. They will directly connect with financial institutions, investors, and leading companies in the US and UK, presenting Thailand's and its capital markets' potential to the global investment community, expanding the foreign investor base, and building confidence to attract long-term investment into Thailand. This supports Thailand's economic growth, which ultimately leads to investment, employment, income, and tangible benefits for the Thai people," said Mr. Ekaphop. ."
