Cabinet Approves Special Contracts for Two Retired Ambassadors, Confirms Sirindhorn Anthropology Center Board

The Cabinet approved special contracts for “Witthu” and “Makhawadee,” two Thai ambassadors, to continue their roles after retirement. It also appointed four distinguished medical experts to the Ministry of Public Health and confirmed the Sirindhorn Anthropology Center board along with seven expert members.


On 15 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Cabinet made the following appointments on Tuesday, 15 September 2026 GMT+7:

1. Regarding the special temporary employment of civil servants after retirement (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), as proposed by the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr. Sihasak Puangkaetkaew):

1. Mr. Witthu Vejjajiva will be employed as a special temporary worker after retirement.

His retirement date is 30 September 2026, with employment for one month from 1 October 2026 to 31 October 2026.

2. Ms. Makhawadee Sumitmoa will be employed as a special temporary worker after retirement on 30 September 2026 for 53 days, from 1 October 2026 to 22 November 2026.

They will receive compensation equivalent to the special allowance for officials with overseas duties, including benefits and welfare corresponding to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary position (Senior Diplomatic Executive), which they held before retirement. Relocation and travel allowances for returning to Thailand will be granted according to normal entitlements upon leaving overseas government service.



2. Regarding the appointment of four civil service experts at the distinguished academic level in the Ministry of Public Health:

1. Mr. Khwanpracha Chiangchaiskulthai appointed as Distinguished Expert in Rehabilitation and Therapy

(Distinguished Medical Expert) (Preventive Medicine) at the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health, effective 29 April 2026.

2. Mr. Manoch Uwutipong appointed as Distinguished Medical Expert (Internal Medicine) at Roi Et Hospital, Roi Et Provincial Public Health Office, Office of the Permanent Secretary, effective 29 April 2026.

3. Mr. Pakarn Kanjana appointed as Distinguished Dentist (Dentistry) at Hat Yai Hospital, Songkhla Provincial Public Health Office, Office of the Permanent Secretary, effective 29 April 2026 (date of acting appointment).

4. Mr. Krisada Hanbancherd appointed as Distinguished Medical Expert (Preventive Medicine, Non-Communicable Diseases) at the Department of Disease Control, effective 29 April 2026.

All appointments take effect from the date of royal endorsement.


3. Regarding the appointment of the chairman and expert members of the Sirindhorn Anthropology Center board, totaling eight members, due to the expiration of the four-year terms of the previous chairman and expert members:

1. Mr. Chanchao Chaianukit, Chairman

2. Ms. Narumon Arunothai, Expert Member

3. Mr. Songphan Jermprayong, Expert Member

4. Ms. Sopana Srichampa, Expert Member

5. Mr. Anusorn Unno, Expert Member

6. Mr. Sak Sekkhuntod, Expert Member

7. Ms. Pattamawadee Pochanukul, Expert Member

8. Ms. Arpa Pusangmuk, Expert Member

These appointments are effective from 15 September 2026, with approval from the Deputy Prime Minister (Ms. Supachai Suthamphan).
