The Cabinet authorized the Director-General of the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, to sign as the Confirmed representative; the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, to sign as the Lead Agency for Road Safety; and the Director of the Injury Prevention Division, Department of Disease Control, to sign as the Focal Person to APRSO on the membership agreement form. Ms. Ploytale explained that APRSO is an international cooperation platform established by development organizations including the Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Transport Forum (ITF), World Health Organization (WHO), and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Funded by the ADB and the Government of Japan, APRSO supports member countries in working together on travel safety aligned with other global regions. It serves as the main Asia-Pacific platform for compiling road safety data and sharing experiences and best practices to address road safety issues. Currently, APRSO has 23 member countries.
