On 16 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Yingcheep Atchanont, director of the Internet for People's Law Project (iLaw), posted on his Facebook page regarding Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul assigning lawyers to file a defamation lawsuit against him. Yingcheep said that the Prime Minister’s decision to hire lawyers to file the suit directly at the Criminal Court, without reporting to police or using state mechanisms to support himself, and choosing the Criminal Court located centrally in the city, helps reduce accusations of "malicious prosecution" somewhat.
There is only one remaining condition: since this suit involves a personal criminal charge, it is appropriate for the plaintiff to testify in person. The law requires defendants to attend every court hearing. If the court accepts the case, it becomes my burden. If the plaintiff never appears personally and only hires lawyers to act on his behalf, then anyone with enough money could hire lawyers to harass others with lawsuits without investing any effort themselves. Even if the case is later dismissed, it still burdens the defendant and the court.
Yingcheep stated that if Anutin would take the time to testify and answer cross-examination himself, it would be perfect for him personally.
Regarding the allegations, I have not yet seen what I am specifically accused of. However, as is known, I currently possess a considerable amount of case evidence, much of which has not yet been made public. Therefore, proving that what I have said is true is very easy for me. Conversely, proving that I have spoken falsely will be very difficult for him. If he does not testify falsely, I really do not know how he will fight this case.
Although I have not yet received a summons, news agencies have reported the preliminary hearing is set for 14 Dec. I hope to meet the Prime Minister there so he can personally testify to accuse me. I will be waiting.
