A DSI officer involved in the senator collusion case has been additionally complained against over allegations of using public funds to hire witnesses to falsely accuse the Bhumjaithai Party, indicating possible corruption.
On 16 Sep 2026 GMT+7, regarding the Ministry of Justice's formation of a fact-finding committee into a DSI officer threatening a witness in the senator collusion case, the witness later reversed their testimony and claimed there was a scheme to fabricate evidence to defame the Bhumjaithai Party.
A source from the Ministry of Justice revealed that recently a complaint was submitted requesting a serious disciplinary investigation into the same DSI officer over additional issues. It has emerged that during field investigations of witnesses by a senior DSI official involved in the dispute, there may have been corruption involving tens of millions of baht in DSI public funds—an unusually large amount. Investigations have reasonable suspicion and linked evidence suggesting these government funds were used improperly outside official purposes, specifically to hire witnesses and incentivize them to give false testimony to defame the Bhumjaithai Party and others in the senator collusion case. Senior DSI commanders may have knowingly approved false documents authorizing these improper disbursements, indicating possible corruption.
"In addition to coercion, intimidation, threats, and enticement to unlawfully induce witnesses to testify according to prearranged scripts, some witnesses were motivated by offers or promises of unlawful benefits of various forms or monetary rewards as incentives to exchange for giving specific testimonies that the special investigation officers of the DSI may have prepared or rehearsed unlawfully," the source stated.
Furthermore, the officer in question played a role in presenting investigation reports supporting the DSI Director-General and the then Minister of Justice to accept the senator collusion case as Special Case No. 24/2568. This officer was also a key figure in analyzing phone data of various individuals to connect evidence in the case, having formerly served as the office chief to a former DSI Deputy Director-General who was a friend of the former Minister of Justice.
