Korn Reveals Former Minister Named in US Sanctions Targeting Transnational Scam Gang

Korn revealed that the US is preparing to use sanctions laws to hunt down a transnational scam gang, hinting that a former minister from Anutin’s administration is on the list, and pointed out that Thailand’s sluggishness means foreign countries are no longer waiting.

On 16 September 2026, Korn Chatikavanij, deputy leader of the Democrat Party, posted on his Facebook fan page “Korn Chatikavanij - Korn Chatikavanij” about measures to crack down on online scam operations (Scammer) that have caused severe damage to American citizens.

Korn stated that in just a few hours, details would be revealed about the signing of an important document by the chairmen of two major US House of Representatives committees: Brian Mast, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and John Moolenaar, Chairman of the Special Committee on China.

The signing calls on the US government to exercise authority under the Magnitsky Act, a law that punishes and sanctions foreign individuals committing serious offenses, to prosecute and take action against all involved in the transnational scam gang network. A key highlight is that among those submitted for US action is a "former minister in Anutin Charnvirakul’s government."

The Democrat Party deputy leader also questioned the performance of Thai regulatory agencies, stating that he, the Democrat Party, and the House Finance Committee had previously collected and submitted all evidence to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), but there has been no progress or action from the Thai side. As a result, foreign authorities have become impatient and taken action themselves.
