On 17 Sep 2026 GMT+7, at Government House, reporters reported that in the afternoon, Lieutenant General Kriangkrai Srivarak, First Deputy President of the Senate, and Lieutenant General Chaiphruek Duangprawat, Chief of Army Staff and incoming Secretary-General of the National Security Council, met with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also Minister of Interior, at the Thai Khu Fah Building before the prime minister saw them off at 15:05.
After returning, Lieutenant General Kriangkrai said he came to belatedly wish the prime minister a happy birthday, as he had been away previously. The prime minister had then been occupied accompanying a royal visit to Vietnam. He also thanked the prime minister for attending as chairman at his son's wedding.
Lieutenant General Kriangkrai added that he met Lieutenant General Chaiphruek and greeted him, and they briefly discussed the southern border situation.
