Chayachonak affirmed he is not concerned about ongoing harassment of Bhumjaithai Party, stressing that there is a process aimed at its destruction. He revealed it is normal for the number one party to be targeted.
On 17 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at the parliament, Chayachonak Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, addressed rumors that the Election Commission (EC) plans to pursue cases related to senator collusion involving the Orange Senators and the People’s Party. He said he has no expectations but believes all agencies will perform their duties fully. Truth is paramount and he trusts relevant agencies will act accordingly. When asked about the People’s Party and iLaw continuing to disclose links to Bhumjaithai, Chayachonak said it is normal for the top, stable ruling party to be targeted. He respects the People’s Party’s right to do so and has no comment. Regarding possible counter-lawsuits, he is consulting legal advisors, personally reluctant but concerned that inaction might appear unfair. When asked if there is truly a process aimed at destroying Bhumjaithai, he replied it is obvious and multidimensional. He is confident all party actions comply with rules and laws and remains unconcerned.
When asked if he has spoken with Nawamin Chidchob, his father and chairman of Buriram United Football Club, he said, “No, not even with the Prime Minister. I am not worried about this.” Recently, when reporters asked about the EC’s unanimous resolution, he responded, “I feel it is normal for the EC to have a unanimous decision because I am not involved. Given the effort to expose this case, it is clear I have no wrongdoing, so how could there not be a unanimous decision?”
