Prime Minister Anutin chaired a meeting of permanent secretaries or equivalent officials, thanking 14 retiring leaders and urging permanent secretaries to coordinate closely as if using a “LINE group” without formalities to speed up work for the public.
On 18 September 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanvirakul presided over the 2/2569 meeting of permanent secretaries or equivalent level officials. The meeting took place at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House, hosted by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, with Secretary-General of the Prime Minister’s Office Traisornkul, permanent secretaries, ministry heads or equivalents, executives from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, and related staff attending.
Later, Ekaphop Pienpiset, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that this meeting was the last for several permanent secretaries before their retirement on 30 September 2026. Retirees shared work experiences and important tasks to be continued. They unanimously described working with Prime Minister Anutin as close, friendly, and straightforward—like collaboration among friends and family.
The Prime Minister said at one point, “I have witnessed changes in the civil service, especially officials who dare to speak and offer suggestions, reflecting growing trust in collaboration. I want permanent secretaries and senior officials in each ministry to work as if in a ‘LINE group,’ meaning close coordination with reduced formalities and unnecessary steps so tasks move quickly and benefit the country and people concretely.”
He also said that important work each official manages will be continued because the appointment of incoming permanent secretaries comes from recommendations by the retiring officials. Toward the end, the Prime Minister added, “All retirees will remain in their positions until midnight of 30 September, entering 1 October 2026. Therefore, if there are any tasks, please stay ready to work together. I also ask you to bring your experience and knowledge to help advance the country’s development.”
The retiring heads of agencies thanked their colleagues and various agencies for their cooperation, which has led to successful government policy implementation. They expressed confidence that working together under the leadership of the Prime Minister and government will enhance administrative efficiency and benefit the people and nation sustainably and securely.
