Deputy Interior Minister Je Seth joined hands with partners in the Relief and Happiness Network to boost morale in Pua District, Nan Province, delivering 10 "Instant Clear" mobile drinking water production vehicles from the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) to disaster victims.
On 19 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at Pua District Office, Nan Province, Deputy Interior Minister Je Seth Thai Seth launched the “Instant Clear” drinking water project for disaster victims and delivered 10 mobile nanotechnology water production vehicles through a collaboration between the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). Present were Nan Governor Chainarong Wongyai, Deputy Minister’s advisor Paris Charoensilp, PWA Deputy Governor Pakit Paktham, Pua District Chief Phiphat Petsaphat, alongside Ministry of Interior wives, partners, and local residents.
Deputy Minister Je Seth expressed that he still feels "Nan is a very livable place," and he has continuously accelerated recovery efforts by integrating all agencies, especially regarding post-disaster recovery budgets. He emphasized full commitment and noted that agencies under his supervision—including the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, PWA, and Metropolitan Waterworks Authority—have cooperated with all sectors to alleviate impacts on the people.
After the incident, he learned many water pipes were damaged and provided nearly 200,000 baht in support. He thanked PWA for fulfilling his wish to restore the local water system successfully. However, the situation remains under close monitoring due to ongoing monsoon troughs affecting northern Thailand. He believes that with experience and learning, everyone is prepared to handle potential situations.
The launched “Instant Clear” project is a new approach using technology to produce clean drinking water with mobile clinics that can operate in disaster areas and monitor water quality on-site. He instructed PWA to maintain all 10 vehicles in readiness to quickly deploy to high-risk areas in rotation. During disasters, the aim is to prevent citizens from bearing extra costs buying water. Delivering drinking water directly to homes and communities supports residents and is essential, including supporting local traditions and community activities upon request.
Regarding the flood situation in Nan, he and Deputy Prime Minister Yotsanan see themselves as just small parts of the effort. He praised local leaders—from the governor, provincial administrative organization chief, disaster prevention officials, department heads, district chief—who have worked tirelessly. Most importantly, he highlighted the resilience and kindness of Nan people, who do not complain or blame others, showing strong spirit. This encourages all workers despite challenges; even when visiting mud-covered homes, locals warmly greeted and offered refreshments, reflecting the charm and lifestyle of Nan residents whom they will continue to support.
At 10:30 a.m., Deputy Minister Je Seth led a delegation to Ban Pang Yang School, collaborating with ThaiPBS’s People’s Station program to distribute educational supplies and daily necessities to students and residents. Local government officials, community leaders, teachers, students, and many residents joined the event.
Deputy Minister Je Seth thanked ThaiPBS for bringing numerous learning materials to students. He noted the beautiful atmosphere, scenery, and excellent air quality here. Despite recent disasters, recovery has been rapid, potentially serving as a model for other provinces. Key factors include integrated provincial cooperation led by the governor, provincial administrative organization chief, district chief, various sectors, and rescue teams; and the kindness of the people. Moving forward, tourism promotion will be supported by the Tourism Association and the Tourism Authority of Thailand to boost Nan’s tourism and assist other affected schools. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society will also provide computers to support education at this school.
Today, the Ministry of Interior is fully driving efforts on all fronts, including aid and budget support. Wherever difficulties arise, the ministry promptly addresses the problems so that the people can sustainably experience relief and well-being.
