At 16:30 on 19 Sep 2026 GMT+7 Prits Watcharasinthu, party-list Member of Parliament (MP) for the People’s Party, gave an interview regarding preparations to submit the accusation dossier about alleged collusion with orange senators. He said, “I want the Election Commission (EC) to apply the same standards in all cases. If there is evidence sufficient to reasonably believe that any individual violated the law, regardless of their political color or views, I have consistently called for equal treatment. It is worth noting why the EC has not acted within the same timeframe.”
Regarding concerns this might be politically motivated timing, Prits said the truth remains the truth. The EC should apply uniform standards in all cases. Looking at the 14 September decision, the EC voted 5:2 not to prosecute Bhumjaithai Party leaders. Among those five, four commissioners were appointed with the approval of the 'blue' senators. If you exclude these four who may have conflicts of interest, the majority of the EC actually favored prosecution. This shows that the decision not to charge Bhumjaithai leaders came from discretionary judgment favoring the accused.
When asked whether the People’s Party would establish a legal team to fight the collusion charges if filed, Prits said they would follow legal procedures but he does not yet know the details of the allegations. They need to see if the matter concerns the party or individuals.
On the issue connecting the Jupiter meeting at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani with a post by Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit and whether it involves the People’s Party, Prits said he had heard about the Jupiter meeting details from Supachai Jaisamut, a party-list MP from Bhumjaithai, but he was not present and cannot explain the specifics. However, anyone involved who is being questioned about their connection should come forward publicly to clarify and dispel doubts.
