
Worasit visited Hat Yai to energize Railway Volunteers and elevate stringent security measures on all southern border train routes.
On 19 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Major General Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, acting as Commander of the Territorial Defense Volunteers, assigned Major General Worasit Liangprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior and Deputy Commander of the Territorial Defense Volunteers, to visit Songkhla Province to inspect the personnel of the Railway Volunteer Special Operations Company 2 at Operational Unit 1, Hat Yai Junction Railway Station, Hat Yai District, Songkhla.
Acting Major General Ruangluk Ruangyang, Director of the Territorial Defense Volunteers' Administrative Office, reported that this company was established in 2009 to ensure the safety of the public on platforms and trains from Hat Yai Junction to Su-ngai Kolok station. In fiscal year 2026, it deploys 184 personnel daily to oversee 18 trains per day, totaling over 6,500 train services annually, serving up to 1.2 million passengers yearly.
Worasit presented morale-boosting supplies and, representing the Prime Minister, donated field chairs for use on the trains. He emphasized that personnel must perform their duties with courage and caution, serving the public wholeheartedly and ensuring everyone returns home safely. He also urged them to cultivate friendly relations with the community as if with family to build trust and confidence in the government, a crucial factor in advancing lasting peace and stability in the southern border provinces.
