“Decharat” Congratulates “Naruphon” on Winning Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization Election, Affirms No Regret in Running

“Decharat” congratulated “Naruphon” on becoming Nonthaburi PAO chief, affirming he is not disappointed in running for this election. He has not yet analyzed the causes of defeat but regrets the low voter turnout.

“Decharat” made a statement after learning the results of the Nonthaburi PAO chief election.

At 19:50 on 20 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Decharat Sukkamned, candidate for Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization chief from the People’s Party, along with Mr. Pichan Chaowaphattanawong, party secretary-general and People’s Party MP for Nonthaburi, held a press conference to thank voters. Decharat said every vote matters, he respects the people's decision, and congratulated Mr. Naruphon. He affirmed that the 31-day campaign period was very meaningful to him. Although he did not win the election, its significance remains, and he will continue his political role to drive change.

Analysis of causes for defeat points to low voter turnout.

Mr. Decharat also thanked the Nonthaburi campaign team for their efforts. He has not yet analyzed the causes of this defeat but believes more voters should have participated. This time, voter turnout was still insufficient. He will continue to support the party. From his fieldwork, he believes many issues can still be advanced through roles held by party members as mayors and council members. For him, having the opportunity to run was valuable—choosing not to run would have been a big loss. Even though he was unsuccessful, there are many other roles to play. He plans to reflect on why turnout was only 60–70%, noting that higher turnout does not guarantee victory but would signal a stronger desire for change in Nonthaburi. He sees new challenges the people of Nonthaburi face, and many proposals have been well received. He will strive to push these through other channels. The party’s collaboration across all eight districts was very good. He admitted, “The votes we received were not few, but not enough,” Decharat said.
