The unofficial count, covering about 50%, shows Naruphon Yenprasert leading with 102,000 votes, followed by Decharat Sukkamnerd with 72,300 votes.
Meanwhile, at the Phueng Luang group headquarters in Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, media gathered to monitor the unofficial vote count. The atmosphere was lively with supporters of the Phueng Luang group and Naruphon's family present to encourage and congratulate on the preliminary results, presenting flowers to Naruphon amid ongoing vote counting.
Naruphon expressed gratitude to all Nonthaburi residents for their continued trust in the Phueng Luang group. He stated that without the public's support in voting today, the group would not have had the opportunity to know the people's confidence. He also thanked the Phueng Luang team for their hard work and overcoming obstacles from the start to the end, working tirelessly through sun and rain to achieve the intended success.
Naruphon added that he believes former Chief Thongchai Yenprasert is likely watching to see if his descendants succeed. He sent a message to Chief Thongchai that he, Nong Yui, and the team have succeeded and will continue to pursue the policies once promised to the people, assuring Chief Thongchai to rest easy.
Regarding local politics, Naruphon stated that it is a path that truly benefits the local people since the Phueng Luang team has been with the public throughout. Provincial Administrative Organization council members regularly meet residents in every district. He believes the Phueng Luang group has charm and can build trust with the people.
In response to questions about whether the Phueng Luang group is a political stronghold, Naruphon said he does not believe so but intends to benefit the people of Nonthaburi. Everyone shares good intentions and wants to continue the work laid down by Chief Thongchai.
Naruphon reaffirmed that the Phueng Luang team behind the scenes is fully committed to continuing Chief Thongchai's work in education, public health, waste management, and many other projects, aiming to complete and build upon the foundations established.
Miss Phansaporn Yenprasert, 37, or "Yui," daughter of former Chief Thongchai, thanked all voters who entrusted their votes to the Phueng Luang group and its team. She pledged that the group would work diligently and continue her father's policies as he intended, taking care of the people's well-being to the best of their ability.
Phansaporn also thanked the entire Phueng Luang team who worked together from day one, canvassing in every district, and expressed gratitude to all the public for their support and trust in the group.
These reported results are unofficial as of 20:00 GMT+7, with about 50% of the votes counted. Final results from remaining polling stations are awaited, along with official confirmation from the Election Commission (EC).
