On 20 Sep 2026 GMT+7, the unofficial results of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization governor election were finalized as expected. Naruphon Yenprasert from the Phueng Luang group won decisively, securing first place and successfully maintaining the family’s championship.
Naruphon Yenprasert, currently 57 years old, is the son of Narong Yenprasert, a former member of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, and the nephew of Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, a five-term former governor of Nonthaburi, representing a prominent political family in Nonthaburi Province.
Naruphon graduated from Suankularb Wittayalai Nonthaburi School for secondary education and earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Education, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, from King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok.
Before entering politics, Naruphon worked as a maintenance department manager in the private industrial sector. However, following an unexpected event in the family—Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, former multi-term Nonthaburi governor, was shot dead inside the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization office by Chalor Riewrang, a former Nonthaburi MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, on 10 Aug 2026 GMT+7—Naruphon decided to run to retain the seat and continue the Phueng Luang group's mission, promoting the concept: “City building begins with developing people alongside creating opportunities.” He emphasized three main areas: education, public health, and environmental management including waste management, successfully winning the Nonthaburi governor election by a wide margin over key rival Dechrat Sukkamnerd from the Prachachon Party.
Upon declaring victory, Naruphon thanked the people of Nonthaburi for continuing to trust the Phueng Luang group, saying without their support at the polls, the group would not have had the opportunity to know the public’s trust. He also expressed gratitude to the entire Phueng Luang team for their hard work and perseverance from the beginning until the end, working tirelessly despite sun and rain, leading to the successful outcome. He believes former governor Thongchai Yenprasert is watching to see if his descendants will succeed and left a message for him: “Myself, Nong Yui (Ms. Phansaporn Yenprasert, daughter of former governor Thongchai), and your team have succeeded and will continue the policies promised to the people. Please rest assured, Governor Thongchai.”
