On 20 Sep 2026 GMT+7, the unofficial results of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization president election were announced. As expected, Mr. Naruphan Yenprasert of the Phueng Luang group won decisively with the highest vote, successfully keeping the position in the family’s hands.
Mr. Naruphan Yenprasert, 57 years old, is the son of Mr. Narong Yenprasert, former member of Nonthaburi PAO, and the grandson of Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, who served as Nonthaburi PAO president for five terms, making them a prominent political family in Nonthaburi province.
He completed his secondary education at Suankularb Wittayalai Nonthaburi School and holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok.
Before entering politics, Mr. Naruphan worked as a maintenance department manager in the private industrial sector. However, following the unexpected tragedy when Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, former multi-term Nonthaburi PAO president, was fatally shot by Mr. Chalerm Riewrang, former Nonthaburi MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, inside the PAO office on 10 August 2026, he decided to run in the election to preserve the Phueng Luang group’s legacy, promoting the concept: “City building begins with building people, alongside creating opportunities.” His campaign focused on three key areas: education, public health, and environmental management including waste disposal. This platform enabled him to decisively defeat his main opponent, Mr. Decharat Sukkamnerd from the People’s Party.
Upon declaring his victory, Mr. Naruphan thanked the people of Nonthaburi for continuing to trust the Phueng Luang group. He acknowledged that without voter support in this election, the group would not have had the opportunity to hear the community’s trust. He also expressed gratitude to all members of the Phueng Luang team who worked tirelessly from the first day through many challenges, undeterred by sun or rain, achieving the intended success. He reflected that the late former president Thongchai Yenprasert is surely watching to see if his descendants succeed. He then delivered a message to Mr. Thongchai: “Myself, Nong Yui (Ms. Panraporn Yenprasert, daughter of former president Thongchai), and your team have succeeded and will continue the policies previously promised to the people. Please rest assured, Ar Thongchai.”
