On 21 September 2026, Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list MP from the People's Party, visited areas around Chong Nonsi, Sala Daeng, Siam, and Chidlom BTS stations to conduct a survey of 100 citizens' opinions and awareness about the upcoming Social Security Board election scheduled for Sunday, 27 September.
Ms. Rakchanok said that from her field discussions, most citizens and insured persons were unaware that the Social Security Board election would take place. This reflects insufficient publicity by relevant agencies. She immediately clarified to local residents that “all eligible insured persons can exercise their voting rights on election day without prior registration.” She also encouraged as many people as possible to vote because the Social Security Board is a crucial mechanism for protecting and managing workers’ welfare.
Additionally, Ms. Rakchanok expressed concern that few employers might participate because government regulations impose excessive burdens, especially on corporate employers who must prepare many documents, including a certificate of corporate registration (issued within the last six months), power of attorney, and copies of the representative's ID card. This complex process discourages public participation.
“The Social Security Board election is not about any individual but about jointly determining the future of savings and welfare for all workers, whether employees or employers. We hope to see regulatory improvements that better facilitate citizens’ voting rights,” Ms. Rakchanok stated.
Ms. Rakchanok concluded by inviting all insured persons, both employers and employees, to cast their votes on Sunday, 27 September, to elect representatives who will transparently manage the Social Security Fund, maximizing benefits for insured persons and ensuring reliable welfare for everyone.
