At 08:50 on 22 Sep 2026 at the Government House, Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry and Bhumjaithai Party leader, was asked about rumors that the Kla Party’s removal from the opposition coalition signals their joining the government. He said this is a matter for Bhumjaithai’s senior leaders to discuss.
When asked if the current government coalition already has sufficient support, Warawut said those involved should decide. He said he is focused on performing his duties as Minister of Industry. Asked if he personally could work with the Kla Party, he said he has no opinion since he acts as part of Bhumjaithai and any decisions depend on the party leader.
Asked if he had heard senior party members discuss this issue, Warawut replied he had not and was just learning of the news. Regarding whether the Kla Party left opposition to join government, he said he could not say. Thai politics is constantly evolving with new developments; he said one must wait for events to occur before judging, adding that speculation is like counting chickens before they hatch. When asked if such news pressures Bhumjaithai, he said political news is released daily and is normal.
When asked whether the prime minister alone or the party executive committee decides on this matter, Warawut said multiple parties must discuss it. The prime minister, as Bhumjaithai leader, must consult widely. He reiterated he could not answer fully as he had only just learned of the situation.
