He said Thailand has never interfered with Cambodia or its cultural heritage. Thailand has its own cultural foundation, long history, and unique identity. Therefore, he views Cambodia's use of Thai images on the Miss Universe stage as inappropriate. Cambodia has its own heritage and should not interfere with Thailand's.
When asked about the Ministry of Culture's efforts to avoid diplomatic conflicts, Sihasak said Thailand does not want such conflicts either, but questioned why these problems are being created, noting some issues should not arise. Regarding future actions if Cambodia does not clarify or apologize, he said the Ministry of Culture has already stated that using Thailand's images was improper. Going forward, the Ministry of Culture will take the lead, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stands ready to assist if needed.
