The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Piya as the new Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and transferred Yutthana to a Level 11 position, while appointing Pongthon as Director-General of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection.
On 22 Sep 2026 GMT+7, government house sources reported that the Cabinet approved the appointment of six senior officials to fill vacancies as proposed by the Ministry of Justice: 1. R.T.O. Piya Raksakul as Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI); 2. P.T.O. Pongthon Thanyasiri as Director-General of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection; 3. Mr. Komon Promheng as Ministry of Justice Inspector General; 4. Mrs. Tharinee Saengsawang as Ministry of Justice Inspector General; 5. P.T.O. Prawut Wongsinil as Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; 6. Ms. Nantrasmi Thepdolchai as Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.
Regarding P.T.T. Yutthana Praedam, the current Director-General of the DSI, reports indicate he will be appointed to a Level 11 civil service position in the near future.
