Somsak affirmed the transfer of Pol. Lt. Col. Yuttana from Director-General of the DSI to Government House with a promotion to level C11. At 09:25 on 23 September 2026 at Government House, Deputy Prime Minister Somsak Thongsri spoke about transferring Pol. Lt. Col. Yuttana Phaerdam from Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), Ministry of Justice, to serve as a special expert at the Office of the Prime Minister under the Secretariat. He said that on 22 September, he checked Government House and found no factional divisions. He views Pol. Lt. Col. Yuttana as knowledgeable and capable, noting his previous C10 level rank and that the new expert position is at level C11.
When asked about the reason for the transfer, Somsak said it need not be questioned, as it is a recognition of merit. Moving up from level 10 to 11 is a promotion all civil servants aspire to, whereas a demotion from 10 to 9 would require justification.
Pressed on whether the transfer was unrelated to the senator bid-rigging case, Somsak stated it was not connected. He expressed personal happiness at the chance to work with Yuttana, who is knowledgeable and capable, especially in handling public complaints and listening to citizens' problems. He added that tasks will be assigned accordingly.
