The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) presented 42 awards to outstanding districts and tax collectors, revealing that from 1 Oct 2024 to 30 Sep 2025, four types of taxes collected totaled 18.9 billion baht. Thung Khru district exceeded land tax collection estimates the most, while Wang Thonglang led in signboard tax collection.
At 09:30 on 23 September 2026, Ms. Kanokwan Iamlum, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, chaired the award ceremony for outstanding agencies and tax collectors of the BMA for fiscal year 2026. Ms. Thatsanee Panprakhun, Director of the Finance Department, along with executives, civil servants, BMA Revenue Office staff, district directors, revenue division heads, award-winning tax officers from 50 district offices, and related parties attended the ceremony.
Ms. Kanokwan stated that Bangkok places great importance on revenue collection, as revenue is a key mechanism for managing urban areas, providing public services, and enhancing residents' quality of life. BMA's income comes from both its own collections and those collected by government agencies on its behalf. Thus, improving revenue collection efficiency and expanding the tax base are crucial missions requiring joint efforts. Personnel and teams have dedicated themselves to expanding the tax base, improving collection efficiency, and applying new ideas and innovations in their work, which significantly contributes to Bangkok's development.
In fiscal year 2025, BMA set a revenue collection target from four types of district taxes—land and building tax, signboard tax, house and land tax, and local maintenance tax—at a total of 16.793 billion baht. Between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025, BMA collected a total of 18.90091 billion baht in taxes, achieving 112.55% of the target, exceeding the set estimate. Tax collection is not solely the responsibility of the Revenue Division but requires cooperation from all parties and district office management to integrate their efforts.
The award ceremony honors and encourages dedicated officers who play a vital role in advancing BMA's revenue mission and accelerating the completion of the BMA TAX MAP local tax information system to ensure accuracy and completeness. It also recognizes districts that exceeded their tax collection targets.
The selection of awardees follows criteria set by a selection committee, considering performance in collecting the four tax types: land and building tax, signboard tax, house and land tax, and local maintenance tax. Awards for agencies with outstanding tax collection results cover six categories with 18 plaques. Awards for outstanding tax officers include four tax types across six district groups, granting 24 certificates and cash prizes, totaling 42 awards as follows.
