The Social Security Office is running a final campaign inviting employers and insured persons to exercise their voting rights for the Social Security Board election on Sunday, 27 Sep 2026.
On 23 Sep 2026, Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office (SSO), chaired a promotional campaign for the Social Security Board election. Attending were Mr. Mongkol Songkram, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Labour; Ms. Nonglak Korworakul, Deputy Secretary-General of SSO; Ms. Niyada Seni Manomai, Deputy Secretary-General of SSO; Mr. Pinit Chaitu, Director of the Social Security Office Bangkok Area 3, along with government officials and staff. They conducted outreach at Fortune Town Shopping Mall and the MRT Rama 9 station walkway to invite employers and insured persons to vote on Sunday, 27 September 2026, from 08:00 to 16:00.
Ms. Kanchana stated that visiting this busy business district with many people and establishments aims to communicate the "5 Checks Before Entering the Polling Booth" guideline to help voters prepare: Check eligibility and voter list; check polling location and map; check candidates according to employer or insured person status; and check voting time between 08:00 and 16:00.
Check important documents: insured persons can present their ID card, government-issued card, or digital ID via apps like ThaID or DLT. For corporate employers authorizing representatives, they must prepare a company registration certificate (no older than six months) and a power of attorney. One authorized person can vote on behalf of only one corporate entity.
For voting procedure, after identification, voters write the candidate number using Arabic numerals up to 7 digits or mark the box for "no candidate selected." Writing other texts or symbols on the ballot is prohibited to avoid invalid ballots. The SSO strictly emphasizes prohibitions: no campaign materials inside the booth, no photographing or displaying marked ballots, no removal of ballots from polling stations, and no use of communication devices during voting. Observing the vote count outside the barrier is allowed after 16:00.
