On 23 September 2026, following the case where Mr. Pui Saengnak, a resident of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, submitted a letter to Mr. Jesada Dontreesano, MP for Pathum Thani from the Prachachon Party and Deputy Chairman of the Water Resources Management Commission, concerning severe flooding in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and central region areas, which included the statement: "I am from Ayutthaya. We chose the ruling party throughout the province, hoping things would improve. But now, it's worse than before. I've never seen a year worse than this."
Later, at 16:18. Pradorn Prissanantakul, MP for Ang Thong from the Bhumjaithai Party and Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, posted a message viaFacebook,stating: "Do not politicize the people's hardships. Sustainable solutions to flooding in the Chao Phraya basin cannot be done in 3-5 months or even 2-3 years. We are talking about a timeframe of at least 7-8 years." Everyone knows the only solution in the Chao Phraya basin is to have large-scale water drainage. The Bang Ban-Bang Sai project began in 2020; now after six years, it is still unfinished. At least the project has started and will be completed within the next two years.
However, Bang Ban-Bang Sai or the second Chao Phraya project cannot fully solve the problem, but it will help reduce the burden on the people. The Chainat-Pasak-Gulf project, which involves building an additional large drainage route, is the sole sustainable solution and the only way out for this problem.
