On 23 September 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced that the program “Thai Chua Thai Plus (60/40)” continued to see ongoing spending. On 22 September 2026, spending through the program totaled 827.9 million baht, the highest for the 22nd day in the past four months since June 2026. Comparing this to the average spending on 22 June, 22 July, and 22 August, which averaged 760.8 million baht per day, spending on 22 September was 67.1 million baht, or about 8.8%, higher.
Ms. Lalida added that this figure is notable because typically, under the 60/40 program, people tend to spend more during the first one to two weeks of the month, then slow down toward month-end. However, on 22 September, already late in the month, spending was higher than on the same day in the previous three months, indicating continued use of the program and ongoing fund circulation.
“Despite being late in the month, spending on 22 September was still 827.9 million baht, about 8.8% above the average for the 22nd day over the prior three months. This signals that people continue to use the program to help ease their expenses, while funds are directly passed on to stores and small businesses.”
On 22 September 2026, the Cabinet approved the project “Thai Chua Thai Plus (Additional)” to continue supporting citizens amid the energy crisis. The “Thai Chua Thai Plus (60/40) (Additional)” program will run from 1 October to 30 November 2026, with the government co-paying 60%, up to 200 baht per person per day, and a total limit of 1,000 baht per person throughout the program.
Ms. Lalida added that extending the program for two more months will sustain citizens’ purchasing power, ease living costs, and help stores and small businesses maintain cash flow, especially as people continue to face energy price volatility. “The latest spending figures demonstrate that Thai Chua Thai Plus remains a program actively used by the public, with money reaching actual stores. Extending the program through October and November will help maintain purchasing momentum and ensure funds continue to flow into the grassroots economy.”
