He revealed that he recently joined the Commission on Anti-Money Laundering and Narcotics Control and a special operations unit from the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, to inspect and raid an illegal gambling den located at Soi Prachasongkhro 14 in Din Daeng district, Bangkok, on 23 September.
Chaiyanat said that during the raid, a call came into the phone of the person responsible for the premises. Upon inquiry about the caller, interesting information emerged. He urged the Metropolitan Police Commissioner to urgently investigate and thoroughly identify the owner or individuals involved with the venue, especially the person referred to by the initials 'Sia P.888,' a figure reportedly well known in Din Daeng. He stressed that the facts and connections should be clearly verified through legal procedures.
He also called on the Bangkok Governor to examine the performance of the Din Daeng District Director regarding the building alterations at the venue. He questioned why the district office was unaware or failed to inspect earlier, whether the modifications were legally permitted, and if the building's use complied with relevant laws and purposes.
"I urge both the Metropolitan Police and Bangkok authorities to take this matter seriously. It should not end with just arresting those on-site, but must extend to uncovering those behind it: the owner, involved parties, and local officials. If any neglect or dereliction of duty is found, the facts must be investigated and legal action pursued."
In conclusion, Chaiyanat stated that this integrated field operation addressed multiple aspects—not only gambling but also related laws and regulations concerning the venue, including gambling, money laundering, narcotics, building inspections and modifications, safety measures, public health laws, and disease control. This comprehensive law enforcement aims to prevent the illegal venue from reopening.
