On 24 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Major Pattaradarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government, through the Ministry of Education, invites interested educational institutions to join the Australia-ASEAN Building Relationships through Intercultural Dialogue and Growing Engagement (BRIDGE) School Partnership Program 2026-2027. The program offers Thai teachers and students opportunities to connect with schools in Australia and ASEAN member countries through shared learning and joint activities, aiming to build international educational cooperation networks.
Major Pattaradarasmi explained that the BRIDGE program is supported by the ASEAN-Australia Centre under Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is implemented by Asialink Education at the University of Melbourne. Its goal is to promote relationships among educators and students in Australia and participating ASEAN countries, excluding Indonesia and Myanmar, as well as to foster ongoing collaboration between schools in Australia and Southeast Asia.
For the 2026-2027 program, a total of 30 schools will be selected, with 15 from Australia and 15 from Southeast Asia. Each chosen school will nominate one teacher and eight students to participate in the program's activities.
"This program provides an important platform for Thai teachers and students to broaden their learning horizons by meeting peers from abroad, exchanging perspectives, and understanding linguistic and cultural differences. It also helps develop communication and collaboration skills with people from diverse cultures, offering valuable experiences that can advance both education and future school partnership networks," said the Deputy Spokesperson. .
