He addressed the 81st UN General Assembly under the theme "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All," reaffirming Thailand’s position on "Reforming the United Nations" to amplify equal international voices and restore confidence in the multilateral system amid rapid global changes.
The Prime Minister noted that the United Nations has reached its 80th anniversary and that Thailand is a member. Today, Thailand calls for UN reform beginning with building trust, which must not be imposed. The Prime Minister proposed that trust can be built through small groupings expanding to larger coalitions, enabling countries that previously lacked a voice to be heard.
Peace is crucial; according to Thailand’s definition, peace is not merely the absence of war but requires constructive cooperation. In his statement, the Prime Minister referenced global conflicts including Palestine, affirmed resolving the Thailand-Cambodia border issue through bilateral negotiations, and stressed that the UNCLOS process applies solely to maritime boundary delimitation. Thailand also supports peace and national reconciliation in Myanmar, particularly concerning relations between Thailand and Cambodia.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Thailand’s efforts in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to prevent and combat drug trafficking, as well as cooperation across sectors to tackle online crime.
He emphasized, “An international order based on rules and the participation of all countries in shaping a shared future is essential,” calling on all nations to collectively build trust and deliver beneficial outcomes for their people, the Prime Minister said in his statement.

This visit marks the final leg of his UK mission, with arrival scheduled for the morning of 25 September local time, six hours behind Thailand.
