The Prime Minister arrived in London with a full schedule aimed at attracting investment into the country, launching a roadshow to build trade confidence, as a large number of UK investors queued up for meetings.
On 25 September 2026, Ekaphop Pianpiset, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed details of Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s official visit to London, United Kingdom. Upon arrival, representatives from the UK’s business, industrial, investment, financial, aviation, and tourism sectors prepared to hold continuous meetings and discussions with the Prime Minister to reaffirm Thailand’s economic potential.
The schedule began with meetings involving senior representatives from key UK government and business organizations, including Matt Western MP, UK Trade Representative overseeing Thailand; Mark Gooding OBE, Director General of Strategy and Asia-Pacific Relations; Matthew Davies, Director General of Trade Strategy and Relations; David Thomas, Deputy Ambassador at the British Embassy in Thailand; and Rupert Goodman, Chairman of the Thai-UK Business Council.
Following this, the Prime Minister delivered a speech and attended an Afternoon Reception with representatives from UK government and private sectors to showcase Thailand’s readiness and potential, promote confidence building, and accelerate expansion of business linkages between the two countries.
Additionally, the Prime Minister held important public-private sector negotiations with senior executives from three global business giants: financial institution UBS Group AG, airline Virgin Atlantic, and leading aviation engineering firm Rolls-Royce, aiming to foster strategic cooperation and increase new investment opportunities.
Ekaphop emphasized that this visit to London represents a crucial step in driving Thailand’s competitive policies into the global market by leveraging negotiations with leading financial and industrial capital groups as a mechanism to build confidence, open trade and investment doors between Thailand and the UK, resulting in tangible long-term benefits for Thailand’s economic structure.
