On 26 September 2026, the Social Security Office announced the election postponement to Sunday, 11 October 2026, from 08:00 to 16:00, to ensure the election is conducted honestly, fairly, transparently, and to provide all eligible voters the opportunity to exercise their rights equally and fairly.
The election postponement was caused by flooding in multiple regions nationwide. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation under the Ministry of Interior reported heavy to very heavy rainfall and flooding in several areas, which could affect voter travel and voting rights, as well as the duties of election committee members, vote counting, and result consolidation. According to the Ministry of Labour regulations on the criteria and procedures for electing employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Committee B.E. 2564 (2021), Thailand is considered a single electoral district for these elections. Therefore, setting the election date must consider readiness and equal access for all voters nationwide, as well as fairness among all candidates. In the meeting of the Election Committee for Employer and Insured Representatives (EC) on Saturday, 26 September 2026, it was resolved to postpone the Social Security Board election from Sunday, 27 September 2026, to Sunday, 11 October 2026, from 08:00 to 16:00.
