On 26 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertvivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the government is closely tracking floodwater accumulation in Bangkok after continuous heavy rain caused waterlogging at 44 traffic points. The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Bangkok has prioritized three urgent monitoring zones: northern corridor (Vibhavadi, Phahonyothin, Chaeng Wattana), eastern corridor (Lat Phrao, Bang Kapi, Ramkhamhaeng, Pattanakarn, Lat Krabang), and central city corridor (Ratchadaphisek, Din Daeng, New Phetchaburi). Coordination with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and traffic police is ongoing to confirm road conditions and assist the public.
Ms. Lalida added that inspection of main traffic routes identified 33 roads needing monitoring: 29 roads to avoid—such as Vibhavadi Rangsit, Chaeng Wattana, Phahonyothin, Ngam Wong Wan, Lat Phrao, Prasert Manukit, Nawamin, Ratchadaphisek, Din Daeng, Asok-Din Daeng, New Phetchaburi, Ratchawithi, Sri Ayutthaya, Rama 1, Ramkhamhaeng, Srinakarin, Pattanakarn, On Nut, Suwinthawong, Ram Inthra, Lat Krabang, Phet Kasem, Kanchanaphisek, Borommaratchachonnani, Charansanitwong, and Ekachai. Four roads require caution and slow driving: Phetchaburi, Sukhumvit, Motorway 7, and Rama 2. Traffic restrictions apply only at certain segments, not full closures.
The Deputy Spokesperson emphasized that the government has instructed all agencies to update information in real time, prepare coordination teams, flood-capable vehicles, and evacuation plans to move people from risk areas immediately if emergencies occur—especially in northern and eastern Bangkok and routes leading to downtown. The public is urged to plan travel and check the latest flood status via the Bangkok NOW – Flood Alert website (https://now.bangkok.go.th/flood-alert.html) before leaving home for safety.
