He planned to support equipment for people staying in temporary shelters in Bangkok. For prolonged stays, sufficient supplies must be arranged. He coordinated with the DPA and Bangkok authorities to prepare an initial 100,000 survival kits for flood victims in Bangkok.
Additionally, 3,000 bedding sets will be provided. He emphasized that all related agencies in every province must not overlook public utilities and electrical systems, ensuring backups are ready for emergencies to prevent further inconvenience. The DE Ministry instructed its affiliated agencies to maintain stable internet access, especially in high-rise buildings in Bangkok, and ensure continuous Thai Postal Service operations.
Deputy Minister of Interior Jeset Thaiseth stressed comprehensive care for people in all affected areas, particularly Sa Kaeo Province, where flooding is expanding and water levels are expected to rise. Sa Kaeo has declared emergency disaster assistance zones covering 7 districts and 22 subdistricts, affecting 8,706 households, with Aranyaprathet District hardest hit. He urged Sa Kaeo authorities to care for those in temporary shelters, especially at the city shelter with many residents, ensuring sufficient supplies. If supplies are insufficient, they should notify the DPA, which will promptly allocate resources. Officials in Sa Kaeo, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, and other affected areas were urged to work safely.
Deputy Minister Worasit Liangprasit instructed local governments to use local budgets legally and within their authority to assist residents. He emphasized safety management in affected areas, including clearing traffic routes of obstacles that could endanger public movement. Coordination with Bangkok authorities was arranged to supply sufficient medicines and medical supplies. Victims requiring critical care will be sent to hospitals, while others will be assisted to stay at Bangkok’s temporary shelters established across all districts.
Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angkasankulkiat led executives from the Department of Land Transport to facilitate and alleviate public hardship amid floods. They launched a special bus route at Victory Monument operated by the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) to provide additional transport services.
