27 Sep 2026 GMT+7 Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan Chairperson of the Thai Pueang Thai Foundation, former Member of Parliament, former leader of the Thai Sang Thai Party, and former minister of multiple ministries, posted a message viaher personal Facebook page.Regarding the current flood situation, she said the compensation for flood damage must include cars and motorcycles, and she extends her support to all Bangkok residents and families affected by the floods.
Khunying Sudarat further stated that many homes that were not flooded in 2011 are now flooded unexpectedly, leaving residents no time to safeguard belongings, causing extensive damage. Besides houses and household property, the most severely damaged assets are cars and motorcycles, as responsible agencies failed to provide advance warnings to relocate vehicles.
She expressed concern that those whose cars and motorcycles were damaged in this flood might not receive compensation because the current relief regulations announced by Bangkok do not cover vehicle damages, even though it is clear that besides damage to homes and household items, cars and motorcycles have also suffered significant harm.
"Therefore, I urge the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to consider compensating for damages to all types of vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, for flood victims."
