The government revealed that the military has mobilized forces to assist flood victims in Bangkok and nine provinces, accelerating the evacuation of bedridden patients and vulnerable groups, reinforcing flood defenses, and caring for hospitals and communities.
On 27 September 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that the government is continuously monitoring assistance efforts for those affected by flooding. According to the operational report dated 26 September 2026, military units have deployed personnel, vehicles, and equipment to support aid efforts in Bangkok and nine provinces: Kanchanaburi, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Suphanburi, and Ang Thong. Efforts include evacuating bedridden patients, the elderly, and vulnerable groups, relocating people and property, establishing flood defenses, and protecting hospitals and community areas.
In Bangkok, military units have spread out to assist residents across several areas, evacuating a total of 25 bedridden patients and elderly individuals from Prachanivet 2 Elderly Care Center in Lak Si district to shelters. They have also aided patients in the Wat Thewasunthorn community in Chatuchak district and the Chin Khet community in Lak Si district, as well as transporting field beds to set up a temporary shelter at Lak Si Temple.
Meanwhile, in coordination with district offices, efforts to strengthen flood defenses are underway, including placing over 1,500 sandbags near Lotus Charan in Bang Phlat district and 500 bags in Kiakkai, Dusit district. Additional sandbags are being prepared in Bang Na district, with flood barriers established in Bang Sue and Wang Thonglang districts.
Additionally, personnel, trucks, and vehicles capable of accessing flooded areas have been deployed to assist in moving people and belongings in Suan Luang, Ratchathewi, Khlong Sam Wa, Lat Krabang, Prawet, and Bueng Kum districts. They have also operated in Soi Lat Phrao 87 in Wang Thonglang district and the Watcharapranee community in Bang Khen district to facilitate transportation and help move items to higher ground.
In the provinces, in Kanchanaburi, officials collaborated with local agencies in Huai Krachao district to clear waterways, remove aquatic weeds, and distribute essential supplies to flood victims. In Chachoengsao, personnel were deployed to assist bedridden patients and evacuate residents from flooded areas in Ban Krabok Tia, Tha Kradan subdistrict, Sanam Chai Khet district.
In Chonburi province, military units supported residents in Mueang Chonburi and Phanat Nikhom districts by moving belongings, filling and placing sandbags to prevent water intrusion into homes, evacuating bedridden patients and vulnerable groups, and distributing relief supplies.
In Nakhon Pathom, officials operated around Nakhon Pathom Hospital and Thammasala Municipality by evacuating patients, moving belongings to higher ground, and placing sandbags to protect the hospital from flooding. In Pathum Thani, 800 sandbags were piled to form a flood barrier near Ruam Ratcha Samakkhi School in Bueng Kho Hai subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka district.
In Prachinburi, forces were deployed to assist residents in Kabin Buri, Si Maha Phot, Prachantakham, Ban Sang districts, and the Mueang district by evacuating people and bedridden patients, lifting belongings and electrical appliances to higher ground, and filling and placing sandbags to prevent riverbank overflow and protect Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital.
In Sa Kaeo province, military units assisted in Mueang Sa Kaeo district by evacuating bedridden patients and vulnerable groups to safe areas, helping move property to higher ground, and aiding monks by pushing vehicles stuck in water that had stalled on the road.
In Suphanburi, officials collaborated with Suphanburi Municipality to place 3,000 sandbags to build a flood barrier along the Tha Chin River, install water pumps to drain residential areas, and reinforce sandbag defenses protecting Chaophraya Yommarat Hospital.
In Ang Thong province, officials worked with local agencies and the Royal Irrigation Department to assist residents in Pa Mok district by relocating belongings from flooded areas and installing pile poles and big bags to prevent riverbank collapse.
“The government prioritizes rapid access to and assistance for people in affected areas, especially bedridden patients, the elderly, and vulnerable groups, while protecting key sites such as hospitals and communities. Military units continue supporting local agencies by evacuating residents, moving property, establishing flood defenses, and alleviating hardships to ensure comprehensive and safe aid delivery,” the government stated.
