On 27 Sep 2026 GMT+7, J Seth Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior, stated regarding compensation for deaths caused by electric shocks during the flooding at Khlong Chan flats that compensation is certain. It aligns with standard criteria, similar to previous cases where 2 million baht was paid to families of the deceased. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will submit a request for Cabinet approval.
J Seth added that the Prime Minister has expedited agencies to quickly assess the damage, and the first compensation installment is expected to cover the deceased's families initially.
