The Democrat Party is accepting donations of items to prepare survival kits, sending them via MPs and local councilors to distribute in flooded areas and ease public hardship. Abhisit Vejjajiva will continue relief efforts in Khlong Chan this afternoon, ordering party members to deploy trucks to help residents travel in and out.
On 27 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at the Democrat Party headquarters, Ms. Siripha Intawichian, party deputy spokesperson, revealed that this morning the coordination center for flood relief at party offices began accepting donations of consumer goods, rice, dried food, and essentials to prepare survival kits. These will be delivered to the party’s MPs and local councilors to distribute in Bangkok areas with severe flooding, where many locations remain submerged and residents cannot buy food. Currently, MPs and private sector donors are steadily bringing contributions.
Meanwhile, party MPs and local councilors are actively providing aid, especially in the heavily flooded Bang Kapi and Khlong Chan areas. This afternoon, Abhisit Vejjajiva, Democrat Party leader, will join local party teams in those areas to deliver survival kits and assist residents. Residents needing help can contact the Democrat Party for assistance.
Similarly, in other provinces, party MPs continue monitoring the situation. In Rayong province, Mr. Pasin Pitutecha, Democrat MP for Rayong, reported that water levels remain concerning in many areas, with roads cut off, preventing normal travel.
Ms. Siripha said urgent needs currently include food and medicine. Many residents cannot leave flooded areas to buy supplies, or if they do, convenience stores lack sufficient products. She called on the Ministry of Commerce to send its existing mobile vendor vehicles into affected areas to assist residents.

Additionally, Abhisit assigned Mr. Pongsakorn Kwanmuang, Democrat Party spokesperson, and party teams to urgently survey hardship and assist flood victims in Khlong Toei district, focusing on vulnerable groups, elderly, bedridden patients, and young children. The teams are using party trucks to transport residents within communities inaccessible by small vehicles and to carry drinking water, rice, survival kits, foot care medicine, and daily necessities for distribution to alleviate hardship.
Besides delivering relief goods and travel assistance, the party is coordinating with relevant local agencies and establishing emergency help coordination points to closely support residents until the situation returns to normal.
Former Prime Minister "Chuan" visits party to monitor aid for flood victims.
Mr. Chuan Leekpai, party list MP and former prime minister, visited today to oversee flood relief efforts in various areas and participate in receiving donated items from the public and private sectors for making survival kits to help affected citizens.
Mr. Chuan expressed concern and offered encouragement to Bangkok residents and those in affected provinces. He also thanked and motivated officials and volunteers working tirelessly to help local communities.
