Phradorn Prisananantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, . visited Sing Buri Province to follow up on the water situation and measures to prevent impacts from rising Chao Phraya River levels at the area under Bang Rachan Bridge, Mueang District, Sing Buri Province. Currently, water is being discharged at about 1,950 cubic meters per second, with possible increases within the next 1-2 days. He urged the public to closely monitor the situation and announcements from the Royal Irrigation Department.
The visit included Sahachai Jamprasitakul, Deputy Governor of Sing Buri Province; Pol. Maj. Gen. Chairap Chunnawat, Commander of Sing Buri Provincial Police; Narongsak Wingwon, Mayor of Sing Buri Municipality; Narongpan Jamchan, Head of Sing Buri Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office; Natthakorn Siriphongphaeo, District Chief of Mueang Sing Buri; and other related agencies, who welcomed and reported on the water situation in Sing Buri, which is beginning to be affected.
At the risk point under Bang Rachan Bridge, where the Department of Highways is constructing a bridge, the Sing Buri Municipality and related agencies have built a temporary water barrier to prevent flooding into the province's key economic zones. The barrier is currently stable, strong, and able to handle the situation.
Phradorn spoke about long-term water management, stating that the government is promoting a large-scale drainage canal project from Chainat to Pasak and from Pasak to the Gulf of Thailand to improve drainage efficiency and reduce flood impacts. The project is expected to begin operations and receive funding starting October 2027.
