The government is expediting aid for flood victims in Bangkok. Sabida ordered the Ministry of Culture to open kitchens to prepare meals for residents surrounded by floodwaters or stranded in affected areas and evacuation centers, emphasizing the full use of all resources to assist the people.
On 28 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Lalida Pertwiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Ministry of Culture is accelerating support for people affected by the flooding in Bangkok. On 27 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture, after returning from official duties in Russia, instructed the Ministry to open kitchens at the Department of Cultural Promotion to prepare ready-to-eat meals and deliver them to residents trapped by floodwaters, stranded in their areas, and to victims in various evacuation centers.
Lalida added that Sabida has urged all agencies under the Ministry of Culture to closely monitor heavy rain and flooding, and to be ready to support relief efforts immediately upon receiving coordination. The highest priority is the safety of the public and staff, with rapid problem tracking to ensure timely assistance reaches those affected. The Ministry has delivered cooked meals from the kitchens to residents impacted by flooding in the Wat Pak Bueng and Romklao 20 communities, Khlong Song Ton Nun subdistrict, Lat Krabang district, Bangkok, to alleviate their initial hardship.
Sabida stated that the Ministry of Culture is prepared to deploy all personnel, networks, and available resources to fully support relief efforts, especially for those still stranded or unable to leave flooded areas to receive help. "The Ministry of Culture stands with the people in times of disaster. We will use our personnel, networks, and resources to care for the public as much as possible. Once the situation passes, we will collaborate to restore the areas so people can return to normal life quickly," she said.
The Deputy Government Spokesperson concluded by saying that the government prioritizes delivering aid to residents in disaster zones, especially those surrounded by floodwaters, stranded in communities, and people in evacuation centers, integrating forces and resources from all agencies to continuously alleviate public hardship.
