At 09:00 on 28 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, called a meeting of relevant agencies at the Green Room, Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House, to swiftly address the flood situation in Bangkok, while monitoring aid and relief measures for affected citizens. He instructed all agencies to fully integrate their forces and resources to accelerate water drainage and alleviate public hardship as soon as possible.
Attending were Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anek Nithi Nitithanprapas, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, Deputy Minister of Interior Worawit Liangprasit, Prime Minister's Secretary-General Traisuli Traisornkul, Permanent Secretary of Interior Atsit Samphanrat, Permanent Secretary of Finance Lawan Sangsnit, Secretary-General of the National Water Resources Office, Directors-General of the Royal Irrigation Department, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Department of Provincial Administration, and Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, among other relevant agencies.
The Prime Minister ordered all agencies to integrate flood response efforts in Bangkok under a unified command, appointing the Bangkok Governor as the Single Command to ensure consistent direction and management. He emphasized that the top priority mission is to "speed up water drainage from affected areas as fast as possible." He instructed prioritizing assistance to areas where residents suffer the most, including those densely populated.
The Prime Minister noted that the current situation involves a large volume of water at severe levels, requiring full support from all agencies and equipment. He ordered rapid mobilization of water pushers, pumps, and necessary devices to reinforce key drainage points and increase the efficiency of water removal from Bangkok.
Regarding citizen care, the Prime Minister gave special instructions to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, and all relevant agencies to quickly reach affected residents, especially those lacking food, drinking water, essential supplies, vulnerable groups, and populations in areas where aid has yet to arrive.
Having personally visited affected residents and witnessed their hardships, he urged all officials to work at full capacity to ensure no area or group is left without assistance. Besides accelerating water drainage, ensuring residents’ well-being during the ongoing situation must proceed simultaneously. The meeting also discussed criteria and plans for comprehensive and appropriate relief for flood victims.

He also ordered preparation of preliminary budgets for relief efforts. Meanwhile, all agencies must urgently address immediate needs such as food, drinking water, and residents’ welfare, as swift, accessible aid remains the government's top priority in this crisis.
After the meeting with the Prime Minister, the Permanent Secretary of Finance revealed that announcements regarding flood relief would be made soon, noting that initial assessments on managing the situation and supporting affected citizens have been conducted.
