Suriyas has issued urgent orders to mobilize agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture to deploy machinery and supplies comprehensively to assist flood victims across Bangkok and other provinces.
On 28 Sep 2026, Suriyas Juangroongruangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, visited a public service point at Or Tor Kor Floating Market (near the BAAC bank) to monitor relief efforts for people affected by ongoing heavy rainfall. The Ministry, through the Agricultural Market Organization (Or Tor Kor), prepared to distribute ready-to-eat meals and mangosteen from farmers in Chumphon Province to those impacted by the floods.
Additionally, temporary parking services have been opened at the High-Quality Agricultural Products Exhibition Center (Or Tor Kor, adjacent to the Si Rat Expressway entrance). Visitors shopping at Or Tor Kor Market can park free from 06:00 to 18:00 between 28 Sep and 2 Oct 2026, a total of five days, to facilitate convenience and alleviate difficulties for flood-affected citizens.
The government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, has expressed concern over the flooding and ordered government agencies with readiness to prepare relief measures, including establishing kitchens to provide food and drinking water to affected people. Today, the Ministry of Agriculture set up a food distribution point at Or Tor Kor Floating Market and will send supplies to areas including Lak Si, Bang Wua, Bang Khen, Khlong Chan, Min Buri, and communities along Khlong Saen Saeb to provide urgent assistance to those most in need. Suriyas said.
Suriyas added that he has instructed all agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to closely monitor flood situations in all areas and swiftly provide urgent assistance to flood victims both in Bangkok and other provinces. This includes mobilizing officials to help those affected, supplying machinery, tools, survival kits, and opening public service points to deliver aid as quickly as possible.
He also emphasized that the Royal Irrigation Department must closely track water levels, coordinating with the National Water Resources Office and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to manage water systems according to rainfall in each area and divert water routes to minimize public impact. Regarding the damage at the Khlong Rauk Reservoir in Rayong Province, Mr. Sarawut Nueangjamnong, Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, is preparing to inspect the site. Initial reports indicate the damage remains controllable.
Agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives are integrating efforts with related agencies to rapidly support and assist affected people in various areas as follows:
1. The Department of Agriculture supports 500 boxed meals/dry food packages to distribute to communities around Bang Khen and Bang Bua.
2. The Department of Livestock Development, for Bangkok and metropolitan areas, is preparing to provide 1,000 sets of sticky rice with fried pork and grilled pork, 5,000 boiled eggs for flood victims in the Rangsit Municipality community, and 1,000 survival kits for distribution.
For provinces, urgent help is given to farmers to evacuate 381,131 livestock from risk areas, distributing 22,000 kilograms of royal animal feed, supporting 6,519 animal health promotion kits (minerals, antibiotics, vitamins), distributing animal survival kits, deploying mobile veterinary units to treat animals, and advising farmers on animal health care and close monitoring to prevent livestock disease outbreaks during the rainy season.
3. The Department of Cooperative Promotion supports 1,000 boxed meals and drinking water sets for people in Lak Si, Khlong Sam Wa, Min Buri, and Khlong Chan districts.
4. The Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department supports boxed meals and drinking water for people around Kasetsart University, Bang Khen.
5. The Agricultural Land Reform Office supports 500 boxed meals and drinking water sets for people in Pathum Thani Province.
6. The Land Development Department is accelerating flood relief in Bangkok by providing 1,000 sets of rice and dry food to assist victims in communities behind the Army Science Department, Senachai Khlong community in Chatuchak District, and Ruamjai Phatthana Klang community in Bang Khen District.
In provinces, Land Development Office branches and stations collaborate to support boxed meals and dry food to farmers and affected people, and supply Super P.D.6 accelerator to treat wastewater and remove odors in flooded communities.
7. The Department of Agricultural Extension supports 300 ready-to-eat meal boxes and drinking water sets for people at the flood shelter center at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Bangkok.
8. The Department of Sericulture supports 200 boxed meals with drinking water for people in Bang Khen District and 200 survival kits to assist flood victims in Bueng Kum District.
9. The Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) supports 300 survival kits for people in Bueng Kum District.
10. The Agricultural Market Organization (Or Tor Kor) supports 500 ready-to-eat meal sets and 6,000 kilograms of mangosteen from Chumphon farmers for distribution at Or Tor Kor Floating Market, Khlong Chan Housing Community, and the temporary evacuation point at Ruam Klao Housing Community.
11. The Office of Agricultural Economics supports 500 boxed meals and drinking water sets for people around Kasetsart University, Bang Khen.
12. The Rice Department supports 300 boxed meals and drinking water sets for people around Kasetsart University, Bang Khen, and the Ministry of Agriculture welfare flats.
13. The Department of Fisheries has mobilized over 120 officers, 30 operational vehicles, and 30 patrol boats, dividing forces to cover three main centers encompassing Bangkok and its vicinity, the central region, lower northern region, and eastern region to support relief efforts until the situation stabilizes.
