On 28 September 2026, Mr. Ekaphop Pienpiset, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that the water situation at Ban Khao Wang Sai, Klaeng District, Rayong Province, as of 10:00 a.m., showed water level at measurement point Z.11 rising rapidly to 7.21 meters, increasing 15 centimeters within one hour from 7.06 meters at 9:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the water flow increased to 205.20 cubic meters per second, exceeding the critical threshold of 168.00 cubic meters per second, causing water levels to surpass the riverbank by 68 centimeters.
Mr. Ekaphop added that a large volume of water from upstream has now joined the flow, causing water levels in Khlong Prasae and surrounding areas to rise sharply and flow swiftly. He urged residents in low-lying and downstream areas to exercise increased caution and closely monitor announcements and warnings from officials, as water levels may rise further and cause sudden flooding.
“We urge evacuees not to return to low-lying riverside areas under any circumstances and to remain in safe locations. Residents downstream should closely monitor rising water levels that may suddenly overflow and flood areas. Please follow government alerts carefully, and if assistance is needed, contact authorities immediately. The government is currently mobilizing all available resources to assist the public fully,” the government spokesperson said.
