Deputy Minister Akkranand has warned Kanchanaburi residents to prepare for flooding in multiple areas as a mass of water from Sai Yok is expected to flow downstream tomorrow. He has ordered the establishment of central kitchens to deliver food and drinking water to homes and committed to ongoing care for the public until normal conditions are restored.
On 28 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Akkranand Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Kanchanaburi province, posted on his personal Facebook page about coordinating aid for people affected by the water situation in various parts of Kanchanaburi. He urged residents in vulnerable areas to quickly move belongings and assets to higher ground. In Wang Yen subdistrict, coordination with the local administrative organization’s chief encouraged residents in low-lying areas to move possessions upward and relocate cattle and pigs to safe locations. Plans are underway to set up a central kitchen to support the community, with Akkranand serving as the main coordinator for aid along the Kwae Noi River side.
In Nong Kum subdistrict, coordination with the local administrative chief is preparing to establish a central kitchen at Nong Krathum Temple to provide food aid for those affected. Dry food and drinking water will be delivered to impacted households, ensuring all receive three meals daily.
Meanwhile, in Chong Sadao subdistrict, about 6-7 families have been affected. They have initially received survival kits and efforts are ongoing to coordinate the delivery of boxed meals and clean water to provide continuous assistance until the situation improves.
Mr. Akkranand also expressed concern for residents living in risk areas, especially families in low-lying zones. He has coordinated with local leaders to expedite aid and requested affected people to report directly to local authorities to ensure comprehensive assistance. He reaffirmed his commitment to monitor and support all residents continuously until the situation resolves and normal life resumes.
Mr. Akkranand further stated that tomorrow a mass of water from Sai Yok will flow into Wang Yen village and other parts of Mueang district. If residents are impacted, central kitchens will be set up in all affected subdistricts within Zone 1, including the central kitchen at Nong Krathum Temple. Volunteer cooks are prepared to support aid efforts for the community.
