Khun Ying Sudarat led a team to assist with flooding in Bangkok, pointing out the urgent need to rapidly deploy water pumps to basin zones in the eastern Bangkok area where hundreds of villages and communities remain submerged even after the rain has stopped. She also called for compensation for cars and motorcycles damaged by the floods.
On 28 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Khun Ying Sudarat Keyuraphan led a team of volunteers to help flood victims in the Saphan Sung, Bang Kapi, and Bueng Kum districts. They found that most residents, especially those living in original housing estates and canal-side communities across hundreds of villages, have experienced floodwaters for the fourth consecutive day, even though main roads have dried up.
Therefore, besides immediate aid such as food and drinking water, what residents need most right now are water pumps to remove water from villages and communities because these areas are natural basins.
Khun Ying Sudarat said that Bangkok authorities must survey villages and communities along alleys, especially old housing estates and canal-side communities, to provide water pumps for drainage and to ensure food supplies for survival. These areas will remain flooded for a long time even after the rain stops, such as Khlong Chan Flats, Rom Klao Housing, and Ram Inthra Housing.
She also emphasized care for damages to cars and motorcycles, noting that current government and Bangkok regulations do not cover flood damage to vehicles. Most vehicles owned by low-income people lack insurance, so she urged the government and Bangkok authorities to address this issue.
