On 28 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Chusak Sirinil, member of the Legal, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives, commented on the committee’s majority vote to use the law to summon the Interior Minister, the Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, and the President of Srinakharinwirot University to clarify local exam fraud. He said the committee’s 7-5 vote included one abstention—his own—because he believed that before using the summons law, they could still invite the parties to clarify the facts as had been done previously by sending invitations.
He added that the invitation letters should specify the questions to be asked so those invited can understand concerns and prepare answers. The committee decided to proceed with or without the summons law, so he exercised his right to abstain. When asked if Anutin must appear in person once summoned, Chusak said the summons targets the Interior Minister, not the Prime Minister. Legally, if unavoidable, the minister could request a postponement or delegate someone else to respond, provided the reason is explained—such as attending urgent national tasks like flood crisis management. Personally, he felt the issues should be clearly communicated so the answers directly address the committee’s questions.
